There is so much to see and do in Thermopolis! Here is a list of a few things to enjoy while visiting.

Hot Springs State Park
Thermopolis is where Wyomingites and many other visitors come to play. A big reason why is the State Park. See it, you'll understand why.

Swimming
Be sure to swim in the hot mineral water. Swimming pools, spas, slides and tubs are available for your enjoyment.

Mineral Springs
Thermopolis has long been a hot bed of eruptive earth forces. The world's largest mineral hot spring is evidence of one great subterranean forces. Today their even flow is metered primarily for recreational and therapeutic purposes.

Rainbow Terraces
Long time deposits from the mineral laden water have created a rainbow underfoot. the paved walkways along the riverfront taking over centuries of sediment, splendidly brushed by algae, plankton and mineral deposits.

State Bath House
still honoring the terms of the treaty between Chief Washakie and the U.S., the state maintains a modern facility with individual soaking tubs and pools free of charge. Suit and towel rental available.

Buffalo Herd
A state maintained Buffalo heard Roams the hills just northeast of town on the upper range land of the State Park.

Tepee Spa
Hot Springs State Park. 2 large pools, 3outdoor and one indoor hot tubs with jets. One outdoor and one indoor water slides. Steam room, sauna, masseuse on call and aerobics. Swimming apparel, souvenirs and t-shirts. Kid friendly. Open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, year round.

Star Plunge
Hot Springs State Park. 2 large pools, one indoor and one outdoor hot tub with jets, two outdoor slides and one tube side, steam room, sauna, weight room, tanning bed, steam room, swimming apparel, souvenirs and t-shirts. Kid friendly. Open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, year round.

Hot Springs County Historical Museum
large displays on area history, including: Hole-In-The-Wall Bar, coal mining, Indian artifacts, agriculture, petroleum industry,country schoolhouse,railroad caboose, period rooms, area geology and video on history of the area.

Wyoming Dinosaur Center
Tour the world-class museum including early life fossils, dioramas, and full-size dinosaur skeletons. Watch as dinosaur bones are prepared in the prep-lab and view bones being dug on the dig site tours. Join the Dig-For-A-Day program, and take part in day to day jobs of the Dinosaur Center staff. Hourly tours available weather permitting.

Old West Wax Museum
Natural history of Wyoming and historical displays of early Wyoming as well as information on the history of wax museums. Demonstrations of early day skills, self-guided tours, guided tours and special demonstrations for groups, and special events and programs throughout the year.

Big Game Trophy Display
The Holiday Inn is home of over 130 big game mounts from all over the world. Free public viewing.

Legend Rock Petroglyph Site
The most impressive petroglyph area in Wyoming dating back 5700 years with 283 pictures on 92 panels. Based on various anthropomorphic and animal motifs, similarities show cultural connections with several prehistoric cultural groups.

Wind River Canyon
Enter the canyon four miles south of town for possibly the prettiest drive in Wyoming. Prime geologic territory, from the earth's core to outer crust and offers great recreation. Guided fishing, floats and whitewater trips are available from area outfitters.

Hunting
Big game and bird hunting abound in the Thermopolis area. Numerous guides and outfitters are available to improve your hunting success.

Fishing
Trout, the supreme game fish of America, teem in the blue ribbon Big Horn River. short-term or season fishing licenses are available to locally as well as guided floats for the fishing enthusiast.

Tennis
Two tennis courts are available at 3rd and Arapahoe or on 14th Street.

Racquetball
Two indoor courts are available in Hot Springs State Park.
